The transition from Predictive AI to Prescriptive AI

The transition from Predictive AI to Prescriptive AI

In 2026, business leaders will evolve from asking “what will happen” to “what should I do next and why.” In other words, they’ll demand much more than accurate forecasts from Agentic AI solutions. Here’s what Prescriptive AI can deliver:

Gartner’s 2026 predictions

Among the top technology-driven trends for 2026, Gartner predicts the emergence of AI-native development platforms, which will enable smaller teams to build applications using Generative AI. Further, AI-enabled supercomputing platforms will provide breakthroughs in AI model training and analytics, but will require proper governance and cost control.

Among other strategic predictions, 75% of hiring processes by 2027 will include testing candidates for AI proficiency. At the same time, 50% of enterprises will adopt AI-free skills assessment, which tests candidates for independent thinking instead of depending on machine-generated outputs.
