It's been a few years since Grand Traverse County and Traverse City migrated from the Lotus Notes email platform to G Suite. They are among many local, state and federal government entities embracing the cloud. G Suite is FedRAMP compliant. FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.
G Suite was the first major cloud application to be embraced by the County and City, and it was met with enthusiasm by employees anxious to put the collaboration tools to use.
"County and City employees were excited about the new platform and couldn’t wait to try many of the new collaborative tools offered by G Suite. The IT Department also likes G Suite since it simplifies user setups and server support shifts to Google. This is a win-win for everyone.” - Don Sheehan, former Grand Traverse County IT Director
