Onix deployed Google Workspace for more than 25,000 users at Whirlpool Corporation after the manufacturer determined Google Workspace and Onix were the right fit for its "Winning Workplace" initiative.

Through “Winning Workplace,” Whirlpool focuses on tools, work environment, and ultimately a new way to work to promote the ability to work anywhere, at anytime and with any device. The company’s 69,000 employees are spread across 66 manufacturing and technology research centers around the world.

Google Workspace Drives Innovation, Collaboration

Whirlpool realized the need to innovate more rapidly. Mike Heim, Whirlpool Corporation CIO, said, “Google Workspace is a simple solution in many ways, but the features are actually very sophisticated, with the right tools to connect people. The move to Google Workspace isn’t just a change in IT strategy, it’s a shift in our company culture.”

He continued, “Onix has been critical in making this move a success for all our employees. We’ve definitely come to view the Onix team as an extension of our winning workplace.”

Google Workspace Training Supports Adoption Efforts

In addition to the deployment, Onix is providing support and training to Whirlpool’s users. Training has consisted of 160 training courses through a combination of onsite and online sessions. 8,000 users have participated in training to date. Whirlpool is also utilizing Onix for support, which gives their users access to Onix’s Google Workspace experts 24x7x365. Onix has made an investment in learning the details of the Whirlpool environment, allowing for faster responses and resolutions. Over 99% of Whirlpool support tickets have been resolved without requiring an escalation to Google Cloud.

whirlpool“Onix’s training and support has been crucial to the success of our move to Google Cloud,” said Heim. “Their change management program and professionals made this huge change seem like a non-event.”

Tony Bianco, President of Onix’s Cloud Computing Division, leads the team responsible for moving customers to Google Workplace as a reseller partner.

“Our Services team - which includes Google Workspace Certified Deployment Specialists, custom app developers, trainers, support engineers and project managers - continues to grow and thrive," Bianco said. "I am consistently impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile for all our customers. Due to these efforts, this large deployment has been one of the smoothest projects we have run.”
