Seeking to evaluate how organizations access knowledge using search solutions to find data and uncover new insights, Mindbreeze commissioned the Forrester Consulting report: Let Modern Search Solutions be “The Brains” of Your Organization.
Forrester’s Study Yielded Three Key Findings:
- Organizations gain value when they make search accessible across the organization. As information becomes a larger component of an organization’s repertoire, enterprise search enables organizations to gain value from information more broadly than ever. By enabling access of search tools to employees, organizations will realize better productivity and efficiency from their employees.
- Search appliance tools will lead to low-maintenance, modern search solutions. Embedded search appliance tools will empower organizations to implement modern search rapidly. IT departments will not have to worry about configuring the solutions or developing new search interfaces, as searches will be preconfigured for specific needs.
- Enterprise search helps boost employees’ productivity, allowing them to serve customers better. More than 70% of respondents said their employees provide better customer service through the use of enterprise search tools. Further, 62% said their employees work faster because they are spending less time finding content.
The Mindbreeze and Forrester report provides several recommendations for organizations trying to increase their access to big data. The report authors suggest that using tools that enable ubiquitous search (accessing unstructured content traditionally housed in file shares), deploying low-maintenance, customized solutions that fit specific application needs, employing tools with enhanced security — and embedding search in applications all contribute to more robust search results.
