Google Cloud Search: We’ll Share What We Know at Next ‘18

Next18With the impending end of the Google Search Appliance, it’s time to think about what’s next: Google Cloud Search. It launches soon; Onix’s own Bryan McKay and our client Whirlpool Corp. will share insight into this at Google Cloud Next '18.

On July 26, during a 50-minute breakout session CP107 at 11:40 a.m., a customer/partner panel will engage with attendees about this exciting new product, a turnkey, fully managed, secure search offering.

They’ll hear why Google Cloud moved to replace the Google Search Appliance with this next-generation enterprise search solution — and hear first-hand from customers and partners that have been testing this solution.

McKay, Onix’s Enterprise Search Engagement Manager, joins forces with Andrew Lewis, senior manager of Whirlpool’s Winning Workplace. Partnering with Onix, Whirlpool became involved in this initiative in December 2017 and began a testing phase in March 2018. They’ll discuss what they’ve learned to date during this Google Cloud Next session.

Lewis will discuss the company’s experience and provide a short live demo of the Whirlpool solution. He’ll focus on the business problems it has solved, the content sources integrated with the product — and the features the company looks forward to using, including natural language queries.

As Whirlpool’s enterprise search partner and 15+ year Google Cloud partner, Onix worked with Whirlpool to plan, deploy and support the solution. McKay will discuss the feature set, working with the software development kits (SDK) and the market and business opportunities surrounding Google Cloud search.

Google Cloud’s new search solution will allow enterprises to “ingest content from any number of data sources and experience an elegant Google search experience complete with auto-suggest and natural language understanding and answers.”
