Teros appliances deliver performance handily exceeding even the
most powerful web servers.
A single Teros appliance can secure up to 20 web servers and support more than
150 Mbps of application traffic. In addition, multiple appliances can be deployed
in a cluster delivering performance that scales linearly with the number of appliances
in the cluster. The added round trip latency of application traffic is less than
seven milliseconds – imperceptible to application users.
World-Class SSL Acceleration
The Teros web application firewall appliances integrate advanced ASIC-based SSL
acceleration to secure sensitive Web and Web Services communications and block
encrypted attacks. No longer can hackers disguise attacks within SSL payloads
in hopes of evading detection.
On-board SSL acceleration relieves the application server from having to manage
computationally-expensive SSL operations. The benefit is dramatically improved
throughput and application response times. In addition to terminating and accelerating
SSL connections, the Teros appliances can optionally re-encrypt communications
back to the application server for complete, end-to-end security.
Innovative Web I/O Acceleration
The Teros web application firewall appliances improve overall performance and
application response times. Each appliance integrates web I/O acceleration as
standard functionality to offload the application server of expensive TCP connection
set-up and teardown operations. It accomplishes this by terminating all client
connections and multiplexing them to a small set of persistent connections back
to the application server. The application server is then free to dedicate its
resources to serving web pages.
Advanced Application-layer DoS Protection
The Teros web application firewall appliances shield web servers from denial
of service (DoS) and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, ensuring that
web servers are accessible to legitimate connections. The Teros appliance performs
real-time web traffic analysis to identify misbehaving connections, and then
intelligently throttles these connections to protect application resources.
With the industry’s most advance application-layer denial of service (DoS)
protection, the Teros appliances maintain application availability in the face
of potentially debilitating attacks. By analyzing and managing traffic on a real-time
basis, the Teros appliance can make sure that web server resources are always
accessible to legitimate users. These defenses protect a company’s brand
presence on the web and improve overall business continuity.
Transparent Session Failover
The Teros web application firewall appliances deliver transparent session failover
capability to maintain active user sessions in the event that a clustered Teros
appliance becomes unavailable. Under fault conditions, all web sessions secured
by an appliance automatically and seamlessly failover to another appliance in
the cluster, with absolutely no impact on customer transactions.
The Teros web application firewall appliance provides session high availability
without the overhead imposed by synchronizing connection state information between
appliances. With transparent session failover, the Teros appliance enforces all
application protections, including those requiring session-based inspection of
HTML forms, URLs and session cookies.
