The WX Central Management System (CMS) software offers a powerful,
intuitive solution for centrally managing, monitoring, and
configuring WX and WXC application acceleration platforms distributed
throughout an enterprise.
The WX CMS software provides unprecedented visibility into
how applications are performing over the WAN, offering detailed
information about traffic patterns, bandwidth consumption,
and other performance trends that IT can use to maximize WAN
resources.
The monitoring software also helps IT learn how users and applications
are interacting over the WAN, reporting on bandwidth consumption,
top talkers, and how Quality of Service (QoS) policies are impacting
overall application throughput. Armed with this insight, IT can
quickly pinpoint error conditions or other problems, determine
whether the WAN is at fault, and drill down to identify and resolve
problems.

Benefits
The WX Central Management System (CMS) software provides
the following benefits for any deployment of multiple WX
and WXC application acceleration platforms:
Provides multi-level visibility into WAN applications
and performance
Offering 36 distinct reports, the WX CMS software provides
IT with a complete view into what is happening on their WAN
links. Support for role-based views enables IT to offer segmented
views into WX CMS reports for different types of users.
Supports global policies and monitoring
WX CMS software allows network managers to centrally manage
and modify global configuration settings on all WX and WXC
platforms deployed within the network. IT can also monitor
all WX and WXC platforms, with status reports providing at-a-glance
summaries of device health, configuration status, and compression
and acceleration statistics.
Enables granular user access control
WX CMS administrators can provide tiered access privileges
and granular access control to WX CMS reports and device
configuration functions. The WX CMS software allows devices
to be segmented into multiple groups for access control and
reporting purposes. Support for customizable user roles enable
IT to define what management functions users have access
to, which configurations they can view, and which devices
they can access. A set of predefined user roles can be applied,
or new user roles can be created and customized as needed.
The WX CMS software also supports the Microsoft Active Directory
Schema for remote authentication and authorization. Leveraging
this feature allows IT to ensure that authorizations in Active
Directory/LDAP are used to enforce tiered access to WX CMS
functionalities.
Centralizes and simplifies platform configuration
The WX CMS software provides a single point for managing
up to 2,000 WX and WXC platforms. IT can leverage WX CMS
software to schedule key upgrade and management tasks as
well as to perform updates such as rolling out new WX and
WXC software revisions to all devices at once. Device configuration
publishing gives IT access control over distinct WX and WXC
device configurations by allowing IT to create a device configuration
and publish that configuration to a single or multiple user
groups.
Automates deployment and license management
Using WX CMS software, IT can automate
configuration of remote WX and WXC platforms, greatly simplifying
the set up of tens or hundreds of distributed platforms.
IT can also use WX CMS software to automate license management,
simplifying large WX and WXC deployment administration.
Automates critical provisioning, management and
notification functions
The WX CMS software enables large pervasive deployments
of the WX and WXC devices by automating certain management
tasks that can be scheduled for a single WX/WXC platform
or an entire community or device group. Additionally, all
36 reports available through the WX CMS software can be scheduled
for delivery via e-mail as a PDF, either immediately to a
predefined set of users or at a specified time on a recurring
basis. Similarly, an e-mail gateway enables IT to configure
the WX CMS software to automatically and immediately notify
users of new events or error conditions for rapid follow-up
and resolution.
Simplifies multi-customer management
Using Network Address Translation (NAT), managed service
providers (MSPs) can easily manage multiple customers using
a single WX CMS platform to contain the costs of providing
that service and continue to offer high-margin, high-value
services to their customers. NAT support allows the service
provider to manage WX and WXC devices in a customer's private
IP address space while maintaining the WX CMS management
platform in their own management network. Using NAT, even
though there may be overlapping IP address spaces in these
customer networks, each customer network can still be managed
as a discrete unit.
