The OmniVista NMS environment unifies element management across
the network and provides access to each device through its graphical
element manager.
There are two types of element management: Web-based element management
and the OmniVista 2200 Element Management Applications. The element
manager associated with each device is dependent on the switch
architecture. Web-based element management is available for switches
with embedded Web-enabled manager. Web-based element managers do
not require any installation.
WebView : is a new breed of Web-based element management for the
next generation
Alcatel OmniSwitch. It provides advanced capabilities that are
easy to use for configuring the OmniSwitch family.
Web-based manager : allows access to switches with a standard
Web browser for ease of management. It is a device centric view.
Supported switches include OmniStack 6300 and 6100 series, OmniAccess
wireless LAN.
