Management for Microwave Radios (ANSI)

The Alcatel - Lucent TSM family of fault management products offers scalable solutions that allow network operators to monitor and control small single protocol systems to large multi-protocol networks.

The Alcatel - Lucent TSM-2532 and TSM-8000 are network management products designed to meet Alcatel - Lucent microwave radio monitoring requirements for networks ranging from a few site addresses to several thousand. The TSM-2532, with its single-user workstation, provides simplified graphical presentation of network status for up to 128 sites. The TSM-8000 provides enhanced features and multiple workstations for larger networks.

The TSM-2532 and TSM-8000 both communicate with Alcatel - Lucent radios through MCS-11 telemetry protocols using a highly reliable poll and response format. Additionally, the TSM-8000 communicates with Alcatel - Lucent radios and other network elements using SNMP and TL1.

The TSM-2532 can also be used as a regional sub-network manager in conjunction with the TSM-8000 in large networks. Multiple TSMs can be implemented to maintain backup information throughout the network or to partition the network into various management zones.

The multitasking capabilities of the TSM family allows the operator the ability to run and print reports, communicate with remote users and edit database configurations all without interrupting network monitoring.

	Real Time Monitoring: Fast and efficient protocols are used to keep up with speed and quantity of events that can be generated in a large microwave network.
	Virtual Alarms: Customer defined alarms created using Boolean logic and time weighting allows users to control the types and quantity of alarms propagated through the network.
	Multiple Masters: Provides support for active redundancy.
	Network Partitioning: Allows the network to be monitored from a centralized location, or allows the network to be divided into several management regions.
	Scalability: Cost effective solutions for monitoring small one or two hops systems to large-scale transcontinental networks.
	Multi-protocol Support: Capable of supporting legacy equipment with older protocols (i.e., MCS-11, TBOS, dry contacts, etc.) and newer equipment using current TMN standards (i.e., SNMP and TL1).
	Graphical and Hierarchical User Interface: Systems provide a topographical map of the network on a single screen. Network events change the colors of various icons on the screen. Clicking on the highlighted icons displays multi-levels of information (i.e., site, rack, shelf, card, etc.) down to the individual item in alarm.
