data. e.Analysis makes Actuate
content even more interactive, enabling end-users to view,
analyze and graph application information in precisely the
way they want. All Actuate content you create for your
application automatically delivers this capability, with no
added work during the content development phase. Thus,
e.Analysis extends the value of the information you deliver
through your Enterprise Reporting Application.
Deploy Easy-to-Use Analytical Capabilities To
Empower Users
The e.Analysis option is the simplest way to give your
Enterprise Reporting Application users the interactive capability
to analyze and visualize data in precisely the way they
want. All the information you deliver through Actuate can be
analyzed by end-users, without any extra effort during the
content development and management phases. There's no
need to preconfigure and maintain a metadata layer or load
data into a separate warehouse-because e.Analysis can work directly
off of the data in an e.Report. Alternatively,
e.Analysis can be deployed in conjunction with Actuate
Query to enable interactive analysis of ad hoc query results.
You can even embed hyperlinks in any content to automatically
invoke e.Analysis against pre-selected data in specific
content, allowing you to deploy single-click analytics to simplify
the user experience.
Analyze data in any Actuate e.Report—Any
content created with Actuate's e.Report Designer or e.Report Designer
Professional can be interactively analyzed using e.Analysis
without any added activity during content development or
content distribution.
Analyze results of ad hoc queries—Once
users run ad hoc queries using the Web-based Actuate Query application,
they can request the results in e.Analysis to begin analyzing
the data right away.
Pure Web analysis capabilities—e.Analysis
works entirely within the browser environment. No software has to
be
installed on client computers, making Web-based deployment
a snap.
No mandatory metadata layer to create or maintain— e.Analysis
can automatically create drillable hierarchies from the data in an
e.Report. Time-based data is automatically
grouped into years, months, etc. Cubes do not need to be
created in advance from the underlying data.
Single-click analysis—Like
all other Actuate content, e.Analysis can be launched via a simple
URL. This URL-based access enables you to embed links and buttons
within content that will automatically invoke e.Analysis conveniently
populated with data from the desired e.Report.
Analyze Application Data With Great Flexibility
e.Analysis provides an easy-to-use interface through which
users can slice and dice data in either tabular or graphical
form. They can easily change the dimensions across which
they are analyzing data. With features like drilling, filtering,
field hiding, and support for a variety of graphing styles,
users can easily perform the analysis they need to in order
to answer mission-critical business problems. When they've
found their answers, the analysis results can be saved as
Adobe PDF or Microsoft Excel files.
